Bodega Triton Tridente Mencia 2010
The Bodega Triton 2010 Tridente Mencia received 90 points in the Wine Advocate! Vivid ruby in color followed by highly fragrant aromas of red and dark berries, cola, smoky herbs and minerals. Juicy and precise, offering tangy black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors, with a strong mineral overtone. The mineral note carries through a long and refreshingly bright finish, which features a hint of spicy oak. This wine's energy makes it drink well now, but it's balanced to age for at least a few more years.

Principi di Butera Nero d'Avola 2009

Dry, well-structured and extremely rounded, it offers very complex fruit flavors on the palate. These are reminiscent of cherries preserved in brandy, mingled with a very appealing spiciness that lingers on the finish.

Tenuta di Arceno Chianti Classico 2005
The Tenuta di Arceno estate lies in the hills of the Chianti region in central Tuscany between Florence and Siena, near Castelnuovo Berardenga. Tuscany is home to Italy's most renowned wines. The 2005 Tenuta di Arceno Chianti Classico takes the essence of the Cypress trees surrounding the vineyard - the nose begins with hints of a resinous forest quality and gives way to aromas of cherries and spice with a slight hint of pipe tobacco on the finish. Layers of orange peel and lemon candy citrus notes along with candied cherry flavors dominate the mouth. These fruit flavors slowly surrender to a lingering finish of licorice and tobacco.

 Steven Kent Pinot Meunier 2009
Pinot Meunier dates back to the 16th century in France where it thrives in the very cool weather of the Champagne region. This grape takes its name (Meunier means miller in French) from the downy hairs on the underside of the leaf that resemble a dusting of flour. It is thought now, by researchers, that Meunier is a genetic mutation of Pinot Noir.
The 2009 Steven Kent Pinot Meunier, Fours Sisters Vineyard exhibits wonderfully intense plummy fruit and spiciness in the nose. In the mouth, there is plum too, but a plum more akin to that concentrated flavor in hoisin sauce. The fruit in this wine resembles in acid and structure the Pinot Noir that grows nearby on the La Cruz vineyard site…the chief difference being a more rustic sensibility to it…Pinot Noir’s country cousin. Replete with layers of fruit and an all-encompassing structure built on acidity, this wine, with proper storage, should age beautifully for many years. Only 70 cases were produced.

The 2009 Rotie Cellars Southern Blend is a blend of 68% Grenache, 16% Syrah & 16% Mourvedre. Rhone varietals prosper in the Walla Walla area and winemakers are making full use of these wonderful wines. Deep ruby colored, it displays a sultry, smoky minerally nose, evocative of a South Rhone red, redolent of raspberries, cassis and garrigue (French lavender). The flavors are thick and penetrating, with the Grenache component imparting unctuous fruit, underlain with earth, minerals, bittersweet chocolate and licorice. On the back, the texture thickens with roasted berries and orange peel on a deep ripe tannin finish that shows fine fruit acids and a dusting of spice and pepper.  Owen Roe’s Sinister Hand 2010
The story goes like this- Long ago, during the 17th century, the O’Neill’s and O’Reilly’s were two revolutionary Irish families. They formed a rowing competition to reserve rights to some highly regarded land. The two rowing teams agreed that the first to touch the land, after rowing across the lake, would become ruler of the land. O’Neill’s boat was falling behind so a member of the crew grabbed his own sword, cut off his hand and threw it ashore, winning the title to rule the land. This land still remains in the family. A dark story needs a dark wine, which is why they created this blend or 71% Grenache, 24% Syrah and 5% Mourvedre, typical of a traditional Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The first sip of this wine surprises the palate with soft, supple flavors of raspberry jam and currant. The midpalate opens up to a complex layering of minty eucalyptus, black pepper and leather and finishes with a structured backbone of earth and spice.

  Graziano Coro Mendocino 2006
For the first time in U.S. history, a collaboration of 8 Mendocino vintners has set blending and aging parameters for wines distinctive to a region (ie. like the appellation controllee wines of Europe). Each winery created its individual blend based on the protocol and a panel of experts reviews it. Each winery personalizes the common label, which will be recognizable as Coro Mendocino, and bottles the wine in a uniform bottle. Graziano’s unique blend of old vine Zinfandel and three classic Italian grape varieties, Sangiovese, Barbera & Dolcetto, have come together to create a wine that has great structure and elegance. Aromas of violet, spices, and cedar weave through the vibrant raspberry fruit character, culminating in a harmonious finish laced with vanilla and toasty oak. The wine’s complexity and depth of flavor will continue to evolve with further bottle aging.

  Trentadue Chocolate Amore, Alexander Valley
This opulent dessert wine is produced from Merlot grapes grown on Trentadue’s Geyserville Ranch. Borrowing from the traditions of port making, they add neutral grape spirits to stop fermentation trapping a percentage of sugar in the wine. Once Chocolate Amore is finished aging and is ready for bottling, we infuse a tiny amount of natural chocolate extract to the final blend, creating the perfect marriage of food and wine. This Merlot-based, port-styled chocolate flavored dessert wine is great over vanilla ice cream or as a stand-alone dessert. You’ll be very popular when you bring it to the next dinner party!
